Sweet and Sour Cauliflower

This cauliflower is easy to make and pleases even the pickiest kids. It is simple but impressive. Serve it alone or over rice. It’s a great vegan meal, or a perfect side dish.

  • 1/3 cup Sweet and sour sauce (make your own, or prepackaged)
  • 14 oz Cauliflower florets
  • 2 tbs Garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup plus 2 tbs Olive oil
  • ½ tsp Salt and pepper, each

1. In a large bowl, combine cauliflower, 2 tablespoons oil, cornstarch and garlic powder. Add a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly.

2. Heat 1/3 cup oil in a saucepan. Add cauliflower florets and deep fry them for around 4 minutes, until golden and lightly browned.

3. Remove the florets and transfer to a skillet.

4. Add sweet and sour sauce and carefully mix. Heat for about a minute, then add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over rice or on its own.
